FAQ

  • Yes, in my opinion, a consultation is an important step in the process. Not only does the consultation give you the opportunity to see if you’d be comfortable with me, it also allows me to confirm that my skill set and experience are a good fit for what you are experiencing before you commit your time and financial cost to a full session.

  • I have experience, knowledge and training in more than what is listed on my profile. If you don’t see your specific concern or issue listed, but have come across my site and feel I may be a good fit for you, please book a free consultation for us to discuss!

  • At this time, no, I do not provide couples or family counselling/therapy. I believe to provide competent services it is important for a therapist to have to appropriate training and experience in the services they offer and that is an area that I have not received any formal training in.

For video, appointments are conducted on a PIPEDA compliant platform through JANE (the electronic medical record platform I use). There is no need to download anything, you’ll just have to click a link!

For telephone, I will call the phone number you provide at the time of your appointment.

  • Although the terms counselling and therapy are often used interchangeably, they are technically different. Counselling will often be seen as more surface level, where as therapy is seen as “deeper.”

Counselling tends to focus on a single specific concern and short-term in regards to the number of sessions. Also, sessions may be more focused on problem solving and learning coping strategies.

Therapy, also known as psychotherapy, tends to be longer-term in regards to the number of sessions and focuses on a broader range of issues and concerns that may be affecting you as a whole person.

What will work best for you depends on a number of factors which we can discuss during a complimentary consultation.
